I finally finished the top of my Miroku staff!
I still need to search my house for wire and put the rings on, but the actual construction is finally done. It’s a little rough looking up close, but it looks pretty good in photos. I wanted to throw it out a million times, but I’m acceptably pleased with it now.
I used a plastic dollar store embroidery hoop as a base, and taped cardboard around it for the shape, including the points on the side, and duct taped it to the pole, then paper machéd the whole thing, with a couple layers of paper around the pole to look like the it was inserted in the bottom. The shapes on the inside and the floret thing on top are Crayola air dry clay.
The whole thing is sealed with Modge Podge then painted with Krylon 18k Gold and voila!
I made a giant wallet! It used to be a tshirt.

Bag is made from an old tshirt, lining from something I just had laying around. The lining is really thick, to support the thin tshirt material.

Pattern was just painted on with acrylic paint. Beads are wood, and cord is braided hemp.
